Innkeepers
Robert and Hertha in the Orchard
Castle
Valley Inn treats its guests to 360 degree views of the Utah Canyonlands.
Located in a dramatic high desert valley at 5000 feet, the skyline immediately
south of the Inn is dominated by the lofty La Sal Mountains. Five minutes
to the north, the Colorado River cuts its serpentine canyons. In this setting,
Castle Valley Inn offers visitors a place to relax and unwind in informal
comfort. Five acres of grounds are maintained in
orchard, lawn, fields to provide guests the "elbow room" expected
in a landscape of such immensity. The distractions of city life, happily,
seem far away indeed.

Mornings...
A generous
canyonlands breakfast starts each day with plenty of ground coffee, tea,
fruit and fresh squeezed juices.
Inn
guests feast on a range of fresh, healthy regionally inspired specialties
like Western Ranch Breakfast, Southwestern Quiche, Apple-topped Whole Grain
Pancakes, Cowboy Fritata and Utah eggs Florentine. In the bed and breakfast
tradition, this meal is included in the room rate. Complimentary hot and
cold beverages are available for guests at the Inn. |

While
at the Inn...
Soak in the
spacious Grandview Hot Tub while enjoying redrock and mountain silhouettes;
relax and read by the huge, native rock fireplace; strike up a conversation
with Inn guests who visit from all fifty states and many countries abroad;
watch a movie from the Inn's large library of top-ranked films; browse the
Inn's collection of artwork; toss a horseshoe; enjoy an evening stroll on
the loop path while you stargaze the tremendous Utah night sky (with an
eye out for glimpses of native mule deer!).
Five
acres of grounds are maintained in orchard and expansive lawn with tended
flower beds to provide guests the "elbow room" expected in a landscape of
such immensity. The Innkeepers cater to this dreamy private park with lawn
furniture and hammocks. There are over 200 mature trees on this desert property
giving a shady, cool, green and lush oasis quality. The distractions of city
life, happily, seem far away indeed.
Castle
Valley Inn is a wildlife sanctuary of sorts. We support a large population
of many different western birds, by feeding and providing habitat. There is
also a small herd of native Mule deer who live on or around the Inn year round
and, wild cottontail bunnies are frequent evening visitors. Ring - necked
Pheasant and Gambel's Quail can be heard in the mornings and sometimes seen
from your room window.
Castle
Valley Inn is 30 minutes, or 17.5 miles from Moab along the scenic highway
128. This unique river highway runs along the southeast boundary of Arches
National Park. The drive along the River, to and from the Inn, is one of the
most spectacular scenic drives in the Country. You drive along at river level
looking up at 1000' to 1500' cliffs. Each turn in the road gives an unbelievable
new view. Much of the drive is still open range with no fences to hide any
part of your view. It is often heard described as a "grand canyon of its own,"
and every bit as beautiful as any National Park. Everything you would except
in the wild Utah west.
There
is much, much more to our area than the many activities at the Inn itself.
